Magazine article: “Early Learning: A Call to Put Theory into Practice”

Published summer 2007, in Education Today.
The little girl is sitting cross-legged on the floor. Other pre-school children her age form a ring with her, listening to an adult who’s reading them a story. Behind her, also sitting on the floor, is another adult, someone special to her, her grandfather. He is listening to the story too, concentrating on each word, because he doesn’t speak English. News release: “History is Being Made at Artcast”

History is being made at Artcast, Canada’s leading art foundry. Several important sculptures have recently been cast in bronze and will be installed in public places over the next few weeks. The painter Tom Thompson, Olympians Ian Millar and Big Ben, Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, pioneer Alexander Wood and Franklin the Turtle are all scheduled to be unveiled in locations throughout Ontario in May and June.
